Deputy leader attends NIHRC annual report launch

Deputy Leader, Lesley Veronica attended the NIHRC annual report launch on Thur.

Lesley said “We wholeheartedly support the implementation of a Bill of Rights for Northern Ireland. Not only is this an unfulfilled promise from the Good Friday Agreement but it is an absolute necessity post Brexit to ensure that rights for those of us living in Northern Ireland are protected to the fullest extent.

"Recent court rulings re the scope of Article 2 of the Windsor Framework are encouraging however we cannot rely on this alone. The Green Party NI acknowledges the outstanding work done by the NIHRC and the Equality Commission in producing this important and informative report and in their ongoing work to ensure rights protections across the board.”
