Green Party AI Policy Talk

Policy Talk: Artificial Intelligence

As part of our monthly Policy Talks programme, our next session will focus on artificial intelligence and what it means for Northern Ireland.

AI is already transforming how we work, how public services operate, and how decisions are made. But without the right policies, it also risks deepening inequality, undermining workers’ rights, and concentrating power in the hands of a few large tech companies.

This discussion will explore how the Green Party can develop an approach to AI that is ethical, transparent and rooted in the public good. We’ll look at key issues including:

  • The impact of AI on jobs and workers’ rights

  • Data protection, privacy and surveillance

  • The environmental cost of digital infrastructure

  • Can AI support public services and democracy or will it just weaken them.

Whether you have expertise in the area or are simply curious about how these technologies will shape our future, this is an opportunity to contribute to the development of Green policy ahead of the 2027 elections.
