Rachel Woods MLA has written to the Health Minister asking for clarity on when the Special Recognition Payment for health workers in the independent sector or agencies will be paid.
The North Down Green Party MLA said: "In January the Health Minister announced that a special recognition payment of £500 would be made to Northern Ireland's Health and Social Care workers, and payment to the statutory sector employees commenced in July.
"However, no such payment has been made to the independent sector workers or those in agencies, and understandably I have had a number of constituents contact me asking for an update.
"I have asked a priority question to the Minister of Health and written to him directly asking for details on what the barriers of payment are and for an expected payment date for those who have worked so hard over the pandemic, no matter who their employer is."
