Green Party NI MLA Clare Bailey has said that the latest coronavirus restrictions represent a continuation of the Executive's incoherent and inconsistent approach to dealing with the crisis.
Clare Bailey MLA said: "These latest restrictions and how they were communicated by the Executive represent a continuation of the incoherent, inconsistent approach to dealing with the Covid crisis.
"The Executive has been back and forward with restrictions with no evidence of an overarching plan. Last week, I made the call for an Expert Taskforce to manage our response to this crisis and this latest round of restrictions again shows why we need to take crisis response out of the hands of a five party Executive riddled with competing political priorities.
"Financial support for businesses and individuals must be rolled out as an urgent priority. We are led to believe that the money is sitting ready to go - there can be no excuse for further delay.
"I also continue to be frustrated at how the Executive has failed to engage with the Assembly at this time. MLAs should be briefed on Executive plans so that we can in turn engage with our constituents. That's the role of an elected representative. Instead, I am learning of new restrictions on twitter and via news bulletins.
"Finally, I would appeal to people to continue to make the right choices amidst the chaos. Please stay at home where possible, limit social contacts, wash your hands frequently and wear face masks."
