Anthony Flynn, Green Party NI Councillor for Ormiston, has said that Translink’s £4 million investment in three hydrogen buses is a move in the right direction.

Cllr Flynn said: “Translink is moving in the right direction with investment in zero carbon technology.

“Belfast has a serious air pollution problem with the recent findings from the Centre for Cities' showing that more than one in every 24 deaths in Belfast is linked to long-term exposure to air pollution.

“In order to clean up the air we all breath and address climate breakdown we must make the move away from diesel and petrol vehicles and prioritise public transport and active travel.”
