Clare Bailey MLA has said that evidence from the Lord Deben to the AERA Committee today should come as a clarion call for Northern Ireland's decision makers at every level.
Lord Deben, a former Minister for Agriculture and Secretary of State for Environment is the Chair of Westminster's Climate Change Committee. Lord Deben addressed AERA Committee members, including Clare Bailey MLA today during a virtual session.
Clare Bailey MLA: "The evidence from Lord Deben was clear and unequivocal and should come as a clarion call to each and every Minister sat around the Executive table and decision makers at every level.
“Climate breakdown must be addressed as a matter of urgency and requires co-operation and co-ordination at all levels of government.”
Clare Bailey MLA concluded:
"Seismic changes and policy interventions are required to deal with climate breakdown as the defining issue of our time."
