Green Party NI and Justice Committee Rachel Woods MLA has welcomed a decision not to prosecute people involved in the Black Lives Matter protests last year.
"The policing of the Black Lives Matter protests has had a deeply damaging and corrosive effect on the relationship between the police and our minority ethnic communities.
"The PPS decision not to prosecute is welcome for those who have been subject to investigation for nearly a year, and the operation and decision making from the outset was deeply flawed.
"I appreciate that the PSNI have admitted that they got things wrong and have offered an apology. Now, I would like to see a mechanism created by which any fines accepted on the day or paid to date can be refunded or donated to charities working with minority ethnic communities."
