Bangor shooting - appeal for information

Tuesday 06 July 2021

North Down MLA Rachel Woods has urged the local community to support the police investigation into the shooting of a 30-year-old man in Bangor last night (Monday 05 July 2021).

The shooting took place in Balligan Gardens, Bangor around 9:10pm.

Rachel Woods MLA said: "It's frightening to consider the mindset of someone capable of inflicting these horrific injuries on another person.

"These types of acts are never controlled. One centimetre lower or closer to a vein or artery could result in death. People who commit these acts are dangerous and reckless and use extreme violence. There is no place for this brutality in our society.

"I'd urge people to support the police investigation. Please contact police on the non-emergency 101 number with the reference 2156 05/07/21 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you can assist in any way."
