Karly Greene, from Newtownabbey is currently studying Politics & Sociology at Queens University, Belfast and has been a member of the Green Party since 2006.
In 2008, Karly became co-chair of the QUB Greens and a member of the Student Council. She also sits on the Equality, Diversity and Community Committee advocating green issues.
Karly is also involved in developing a Youth Mental Health Strategy with other political youth wings. Much of her work in this area involves lobbying government to improve mental health facilities in Northern Ireland.
A promoter of women’s rights and minority groups, Karly joined the Green Party because of their strong equality agenda.
