Non violence
Non Violence
The Green Party was founded on a principle of non-violence.
Non-violent direct action
The rights of trade unions and other political activists have been undermined by those in power who seek to minimise citizens ability to collectively challenge. The means to challenge government are an essential part of any democracy and must be protected. The Green Party supports the principle of non-violent direct action and works with trade unions and other civic groups to ensure we have genuine participative democracy.
Opposition to violence
We live in unstable times with violence and terrorism increasing fear and insecurity across our world. Northern Ireland has seen the devastation that such violence creates. The Green Party opposes all forms of violence and believes the promotion of peace, stability and security should be at the heart of government foreign policy.
