Green Party leader Steven Agnew has paid tribute to a ground-breaking €140,000 educational project which focuses on two schools in Bangor.

He visited Kilcooley Primary Schools to find out more about the ‘Teaching problem-solving in technology rich environments’ project being delivered with Bangor Academy and Sixth From College in conjunction with five other partners led by the Controlled Schools Support Council (CSSC).

“It’s great to see these two schools working together in a pioneering project which will help teachers develop proficiency in mathematics in their pupils using innovative new techniques to enrich problem-solving,” he said.

“I am glad to see that the project was able to secure substantial support from the Erasmus+ programme of the EU in order to deliver this cutting-edge scheme in North Down.

“It was lovely to see how much the P6 pupils were enjoying themselves and that is to the credit of all involved.”
