Green MLA supports ‘Hats for Headway’ day

North Down Green MLA Steven Agnew joined other MLAs at Stormont to launch the upcoming ‘Action for Brain Injury’ week run by local charity Headway Belfast.

The ‘Hats for Headway’ Day which takes place on Friday May 18th is just one of the events organised by the charity as part of Action for Brain Injury Week when schools, colleges and other organisations are being urged to get involved and fundraise by being sponsored to wear their hat to school or work.

“Headway Belfast is a great charity which supports people from all walks of life who have sustained a brain injury,” Mr Agnew

“A brain injury can happen to anyone at any time and often has life changing effects.

“It is the biggest cause of disability globally and in Northern Ireland 2,000 people are affected every year and Headway helps those with acquired brain injury to rebuild and enhance their lives.

“I would urge as many people as possible in North Down to support this campaign so that this supportive role can be continued.”
