General Election an “opportunity to put you first”
The Green Party has today – 18th April 2017 – reacted to the news that Theresa May is to call a snap general election.
Green Party leader, Steven Agnew MLA, said:
“The Green Party sees this election as an opportunity to fight Theresa May’s vision of a hard Brexit.
“It is an opportunity for the UK to share in the Green growth that we have witnessed across Europe in recent years.
“It is an opportunity to put the interests of ordinary people ahead of those of a narrow elite, and of good government ahead of party political point-scoring.”
“The Green Party will fight this – and any other elections – with a positive message of hope, equality and co-operation. We do not want to be constantly fighting elections, but see each one as an opportunity to put you first.”
