Councillor Rachel Woods welcomes reopening of key route following bridge repair

Tuesday December 19 2017

Green Party councillor Rachel Woods has welcomed the re-opening of the Ballysallagh Road in Bangor following emergency repairs to a low bridge.

“I am relieved that the road is open again following a period of frustrating delays and diversions,” the North Down councillor said.

“The closure of this key road has resulted in increased traffic levels on the A2 and possibly increased accidents as a result.

“More work needs to be done to alert drivers to the dangers of the low bridge. This is the main road from Bangor to Dundonald and is a key route for the emergency services.

“I have been working with Transport NI to figure out what measures are needed to stop this from happening again and will continue to do so.”
