Cabinet chaos emphasises the need for a People’s Vote

Monday 09 July 2018

Green Party leader Steven Agnew has said that the people should have their say on the final Brexit deal, not Theresa May’s divided, bickering, crisis hit cabinet.

Steven Agnew spoke out as David Davis MP and Boris Johnson MP resigned.

Steven Agnew said: “The momentum for a people’s vote on the final Brexit deal is growing at the same time as the cabinet is hitting crisis after crisis.

“The Brexit process is a mess and it’s clear that the bickering, divided cabinet cannot deliver what they describe as a good deal for the United Kingdom.

“The people should have the final say on the future relationship of the UK with the EU”.

Steven Agnew concluded:

“It’s clear that we cannot rely on a small group of handpicked but divided Tory MPs to protect the interests of the people for generations to come”.
