Bangor Town Centre pavements caked with dirt – Council must do more

Friday 20 July 2018

Green Party rep. for Bangor town Stephen Dunlop has said that Bangor’s town centre pavements are caked with dirt and Council need to step up their maintenance efforts.

Stephen Dunlop, a former Town Centre Manager, said: “The vision is for Bangor to be the premier seaside town in Northern Ireland.

They also committed to do the extra work involved in cleaning and maintaining Chinese granite at that time.

“Unfortunately, however, standards have fallen short of what was promised. I know that our cleaning operatives work really hard and the issue does not lie with them. It’s up to Council management to allocate the resources to make sure that visitors and local people don’t see Bangor’s pavements caked in dirt”.
